What can I say to encapsulate all the enthusiasm, knowledge and love of food and Vietnam that both Monica and Jean-Ann have and share with their tour friends? It was a truly wonderful experience, the country is amazing as well as the people and the food is to die for although there were a few ‘delicacies’ that I didn’t try! The tour in March/April 2015 included Hanoi, a wonderful city and street food; Hoi An, a truly beautiful place and well deserving of it’s World Heritage status with the nearby beach, cycle rides to nearby villages and coconut groves and not forgetting the Reckless Cooking with Monika. Dalat, with the motor cycle trip around the hills and visiting the small farms was perhaps the highlight for me and then on to Ho Chi Min City and the evening Vespa tour with even more street food. I loved it all and would certainly go back again to explore more of Vietnam and taste more of the wonderful food. Monika and Jean-Ann are so enthusiastic about the country, the people and the food that you cannot help but be caught up in the fervour of it all as well. I wholeheartedly recommend any tour by Chowdown Vietnam as you will experience something quite different from the ‘run of the mill’ tours of others. Monika seeks to ensure that you meet real people cooking real food in real settings so that you can fully experience being in Vietnam and eating wholesome, freshly cooked food. If you are passionate about food then this tour is for you.
