We are excited to share our Vietnam tour itinerary!
Our 15-day adventure begins in Hanoi, where we will spend three nights in a four-star Hotel in the Old Quarter of this ancient and exciting city. A Market -Tour, Cooking Class, Vespa Adventure Night Tour, Walking Tour and loads of introduction, as well as the history of Vietnamese food, are just some examples of our itinerary.
Sapa, our next stop, sits at the heights of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, a six-hour drive northwest of Hanoi. Where we meet and hike with some of the four hill tribes and immerse ourselves in their culture and habitats. Fansipan, the highest peak in Vietnam (3200m), is now accessible via an exciting ride on the funicular railway and cable car with breathtaking views. Not for the faint of heart.
Phong Nha National Park will turn you into a spelunker in no time, as you will experience the largest caves in the world. Bike rides through rice paddies or just sitting by the pool and enjoying the fantastic scenery will give you another different view of Vietnam.
Our last stop will be Hoi An, a town I fell in love with many years ago and enjoyed residing in for nine years. You, too, will love its vibe, beach, people and fresh cuisine in those five last days of our tour.
The ancient town of Hoi An becomes magical in the evening with the illumination of silk lanterns that line the streets, river and bridges. Being famous for the “thousand tailors “, you have the opportunity to fill up your luggage with tailor-made outfits to take back home. Bike and Kayak rides are also on the plan, as well as experiencing the twice-a-year rice harvest time in Hoi An.
You will forever appreciate the hard labour that goes into producing a simple bowl of rice after we visit the local rice farmer on our bike tour. Yes, there will be motorbike rides for you to experience, but you will be riding pillion style ( on the back) unless you have a valid motorbike license.
I am also planning an exciting evening food tour of Danang, one of the fastest-growing cities in Vietnam, also known as the primary base of the United States Marine in the American war (as per the Vietnamese ) 50 years ago.
